MARK PAULSMEIER REVEALS DONATION OF ZAR 500 000 TO THE LIVERPOOL COMMUNITY

March 2012

One hundred members of Global Association of Billionaires and Millionaires (GABM), from countries all over the world, have donated an amount of ZAR 500 000 to the Liverpool Community in South Africa.

The funds donated by GABM are first and foremost in response to the devastation left to the road infrastructure of the Liverpool Community by the tropical cyclone Dando during January 2012.

The funds are furthermore earmarked to expand and equip the local Liverpool Farm Watch with 2 way radios, patrol lights, and other applicable equipment to ensure a safe and crime free Liverpool rural farming region.

The Liverpool Community has in response to the generous donation from GABM members announced that they will reciprocate, and have subsequently undertaken to vigorously promote the GABM Let’s Do More Initiative to their respective international social and professional networks.

ABOUT GABM

GABM is a private and exclusive non-profit society of like-minded philanthropists from all over the world, who are dedicated to fight global poverty as a strong collective by participating in GABM’s philanthropic programs and corporate activities, as good and responsible corporate citizens. They have all committed their corporate expertise, time and resources to rescue the millions of destitute people living in extreme poverty - through intelligently designed, pragmatic and effective philanthropic programs.

At GABM, we firmly believe that the engagement by corporations in local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs; or donations made by individuals to local charities does not suffice in terms of good corporate citizenship, or ultimately a way to escape our collective responsibilities towards the creation of a safe and better global economy for humanity.

Considering the enormous challenges facing the global economy of today, GABM’s philosophy is that real good corporate citizens must unite in a strong international collective and actively and physically participate in intelligently designed programs, which significantly enhance international business development, the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of sustainable jobs, etc.

To date, GABM associate members have:

  • Provided tertiary education sponsorships to more than 12 000 deserving underprivileged individuals at approved international universities, and;
  • Invested more than $8-billion US Dollar in thousands of large business development projects, which created more than 150 000 permanent and temporarily job opportunities.
  • Provided approximately $90-million US Dollar in funding to more than 20 000 small entrepreneurs and subsistence farmers in 38 African countries.
  • Donated almost $100 million in equity grants to the victims of natural disasters.
